TruScorePrivacy Policy
This policy explains how TruScore ("we", "us") handles information when you use the TruScore browser extension (the "Extension") and our website, gettruscore.com (the "Website").
1. Information we handle
Conversation content. On supported AI chat websites (ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini), the Extension reads the prompts and AI responses shown on the page in order to score them, highlight claims and suggest better prompts. This processing happens locally in your browser. We do not receive or store this content.
Settings and history. Your preferences, usage counts, license details and a short history of recent audits are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us, and are removed when you uninstall the Extension.
License key. If you purchase a paid plan, the Extension sends your license key to our server to confirm it is valid. No conversation content or browsing data is sent with it.
Contact and purchase details. If you join our mailing list or buy a plan, we receive your email address and basic purchase details (such as plan and number of seats). Payments are handled by a secure third-party payment processor; we never see or store your card details.
2. Optional AI-enhanced audits
The Extension works fully on-device by default. If you choose to enable an optional AI-enhanced audit and enter your own API key for a third-party AI provider (such as Google Gemini or OpenAI), the relevant prompt and response text is sent directly from your browser to that provider to perform the audit. It does not pass through our servers, and its use is governed by that provider's privacy policy. You can turn this off at any time.
3. How we use information
We use information only to provide and improve the Extension's features, validate licenses, process purchases, provide support and, if you opt in, send product updates. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
4. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Extension and Website (for example, payment processing), only as needed to provide the service, or where required by law.
5. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
TruScore's use of information received through browser extension APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User data is used only to provide the Extension's single purpose (scoring the reliability of AI responses); it is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending, and not read by humans except with your consent, for security purposes, or to comply with the law.
6. Security and retention
Data sent between the Extension and our servers is encrypted in transit. We keep license and purchase records for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, and mailing-list emails until you unsubscribe.
7. Your choices and rights
You can disable or uninstall the Extension at any time, and unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
8. Children
TruScore is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
